The Joint Action Plan for Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality in the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle (hereinafter referred to as the "Plan") was publicly released on 23. Feb, 2022. According to the Plan, Sichuan and Chongqing will jointly complete 10 key tasks so as to achieve the goal of slowing down the growth rate of carbon dioxide emissions in Chengdu and Chongqing, further increasing the proportion of non-fossil energy consumption, continuously reducing energy consumption and carbon dioxide emission intensity per unit of regional GDP, and initially forming a new model of green and low-carbon circular development by 2025. It will lay a solid foundation for the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle to achieve carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.
