The First Joy Park International Lantern Festival has reopened, offering tourists a special experience of an impressive lantern show.
The event highlighting Chengdu's hibiscus culture showcases the history of the city through lanterns made of new materials and incorporating up-to-date technologies as well as traditional workmanship.
Groups of lanterns featuring the cultures of the Three Kingdoms Period (220-280), Tang (618-907) and Song (960-1279) dynasties, ancient Chinese mythological stories and world fairy tales are being displayed in the park.
During the event, there are various immersive activities and performances on weekends and holidays in the park, such as music shows, interactive close-up magic shows, Sichuan Opera face changing performances, acrobatics, bubble shows and DIY activities. At costume parades held irregularly, visitors can interact with the clowns and cartoon dolls in the park.
Visitors can taste famous snacks in Sichuan and other places in China during the festival.
● The park opens daily from 10:00 to 22:00.
● Every day when the number of visitors reaches 5,000, admission will be restricted.
● Visitors should wear masks, show their own health codes and ID cards, register personal information, and cooperate with park staff to undergo temperature checks.
