Recently, the Chengdu Meet You Museum has opened to the public and brings the Meet Impressionism - Monet, Manet, Renoir and Impressionist Masters Art Exhibition to visitors. It is the first time that the authentic works of paintings from the impressionists and Barbizon School masters have come to Chengdu.

The exhibition sets five chapters: "Hometown Normandy", "Come To Barbizon", "Become Impressionist", "Monet and Renoir" and "From Rouen to Paris", and showcases 71 classic works by masters such as Monet, Manet, Renoir, Morisot, Courbet and Eugène Boudin.

 

 

 

The exhibition focuses on the natural beauty and cultural landscape of Normandy, France, which had gradually become an optimum site for artists to explore and create art works since the 19th century. The artists' works present the changes of painting styles of the same subject under different artistic trends, especially the their understanding of light and shadow in different stages.
