17 Dinosaur Fossil Sites Were Recently Found in Sichuan's Zigong City
Recently, the Sichuan Geology and Mineral Resource Bureau found 17 dinosaur fossil sites (14 in Zigong city) and more than 60 dinosaur fossil blocks at the junction of Zigong city and Leshan city.
Experts from the Zigong Dinosaur Museum have arrived at the scene to study the dinosaur fossils. The Dinosaur Fossil Group is a fossil site of Middle Jurassic dinosaurs and other vertebrates, dating from 160 million to 170 million years ago.

Zigong is a vital excavation site of dinosaur fossils in China, known as the "hometown of dinosaurs". Besides its famous Zigong Dinosaur Museum, the first dinosaur-themed large-scale high-tech industrial park in China, the Fantawild Dinosaur Dreamland, is also located in Zigong.
