Scenic Spots Recommended for the Morning
Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding
Located in a northeast suburb of Chengdu, it has the largest group of artificially-bred captive giant pandas in the world. Early morning is the best time to visit the base, as you can see the active pandas.
Du Fu's Thatched Cottage Museum
Situated by the Huanhuaxi Brook, it was the residence of Du Fu (a great poet in the Tang Dynasty) during his stay in Chengdu. It has now been transformed into a museum integrating memorial shrine and Du Fu's residence. If you want to experience the appeal of classical Chinese gardens, you cannot miss it.
Wide and Narrow Alleys (Kuan Zhai Xiang Zi)
It is a pedestrian street consisting of three old alleys, which were built in the Qing Dynasty.
Scenic Spots Recommended for the Afternoon
Wuhou Shrine Museum
Built in 223 AD, it is the most famous memorial site for the Three Kingdoms (221-280) heroes as well as the most significant museum of the relics during the period. It is next to Jinli Street, which features old-style buildings, local snacks and handicraft shops.
Daci Monastery
It is an ancient and tranquil monastery, closely located to Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li and Chengdu International Finance Square (IFS). If you want to experience teahouses in the city and enjoy local snacks, the Daci Monastery is a "must-go".
Jinsha Site Museum
A large amount of relics, including pieces of ivory, gold and jade articles, bronze and stone tools have been unearthed at the site, providing evidence of the brilliant civilization of the ancient Shu Kingdom of more than 3, 000 years ago. It is believed as the first major archaeological discovery of China in the 21st century. The Jinsha Sun Festival will kick off February 3 and last till February 20.

Jinli Street
It is one of the most popular spots in downtown Chengdu featuring old-style architecture of west Sichuan and local culture, and a paradise of Chengdu snacks, souvenirs, Sichuan Opera and various folk performances.
Sichuan TV Tower
It is located on the bank of the Jinjiang River. With a total height of 339 meters, it is the tallest structure in western China. It has a revolving restaurant with a 360-degree bird's-eye-view of the city at the top, and a recreational and commercial mall in the bottom.
Hejiang Pavilion
An ideal place for people to appreciate the enchanting view of the Jinjiang River.
