It is recommended that you get to Chengdu first and, after visiting the Giant Panda and places of interest in the city, head for Jiuzhaigou for an eye feast of forests, waterfalls, snow-capped peaks and all kinds of natural beauty in autumn, the best season to travel in the dream-like world.
Located in Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, about 540 km from Chengdu, Jiuzhaigou Scenic Spot is one of the most popular tourist destinations in China, a UNESCO World Heritage Nature Reserve and National Park that showcases the crystal-clear lakes, stunning waterfalls and majestic mountains.
Pristine forests cover over half of the total area of Jiuzhaigou and the scenery varies in different seasons. Summer starts in June and ends in August, with the average temperature of about 20 ℃. Summer scenery features green sights everywhere: the green mountains, green water and green trees. July and August are the rainy season and also the best time to take the most beautiful photos. Jiuzhaigou in winter is a fairy-tale world characterized by blue lakes, frozen waterfalls and snow-dressed forests.

The name of the scenic spot, Jiuzhaigou, literally means "Nine Villages", since the area was inhabited by Tibetan people in nine villages before it became known and rose to be a top tourist destination in the world.
