Issued by Chengdu municipal government, the third list on the preservation of the historic buildings in the city has been announced.
Issued by Chengdu municipal government, the third list on the preservation of the historic buildings in the city has been announced. All the historic buildings (including four residential dwellings and an office building) in the city downtown, were built in a period from late Qing Dynasty and the early years of the Republic of China to the 1950s and feature both the typical Sichuan’s courtyard styles and Western styles.
Former Residence of Xie Wuliang
The former Residence of Xie Wuliang is a traditional dwelling in western Sichuan. It has an area of 747 sq.m and is used as living quarters for the staff of the Chengdu Second People's Hospital.
Xie Wuliang (1884-1964): famous scholar, poet and calligrapher
Address: #44 Sishengci Road West, Jinjiang District
No.81 Zongfu Road
The building, covering an area of 760 sq.m, was a dwelling for the family of a banker of last century.

City Strengthens Protection of Old Buildings

In order to promote and develop the local culture, the Chengdu city government issued a regulation on how to preserve historic buildings on November 5. The document is the city’s first one of its kind and will come into effect on December 1, 2014.
