Since the Tang Dynasty (618-907), the pavilion has been a romantic and iconic structure for local people to gather together and bid farewell to each other.
Adjacent to the pavilion, there is a bustling array of bars and pubs which makes up the city’s trendiest and vibrant nightlife areas.
Next to the Hejiang Pavilion, there is a Love Crossing, where the patterns of two hearts and the words “I Love You”, all in red, are painted on the zebra stripes. Many local newlyweds come here to take photos to mark their love.
