Chengdu Establishes Friendly, Cooperative Ties with Montevideo, Uruguay

On May 8, Chengdu inked an MoU with Montevideo, capital of Uruguay, on the establishment of a friendly and cooperative relationship.
Messrs. Luo Qiang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Chengdu Municipal Committee and Mayor of Chengdu, Daniel Martínez, Mayor of Montevideo, and Fernando Lugris, Ambassador of Uruguay to China attended the signing ceremony.
Both sides expressed to further, on the basis of the agreement, the partnership in culture, tourism, economy and trade, as well as education, etc.
By far, Chengdu has established a sister-city tie with 34 cities, and a friendly and cooperative relationship with 53 cities throughout the world.

As Like-minded Join Hands, Horizons Broaden

Chengdu is joining an increasing number of cities around the world to boost development, following the city's largest forum dedicated to sister cities in recent years.
