HC: Mr. Balázs Szilágyi, you came to Chongqing for work this year. Had you had some connections with China, Sichuan and Chongqing areas before?
Balázs Szilágyi: I first visited Chongqing in April last year. Actually for me it’s the first time that I'm in China. I wanted to come to China actually long long ago. When I was 18, I learnt the Chinese language. I wanted to discover the culture and economy of China from long ago.
HC: What do you think of your life in China since you came here? Did you often come to Chengdu?
Balázs Szilágyi: I've been here for almost 5 months. I enjoy the spring here very much. Now my life here is quite busy. This week we had a delegation that went to Chengdu to see if there are possibilities of cooperation with universities in Sichuan for student exchanges. We welcome students for English language courses of different majors in Hungary, the economics, engineering, all areas. I participated in most of the negotiations.
I go to Chengdu at least once a month. I like Sichuan food, I like almost everything. I like spicy food. I also went to the Panda Base with my family, and Leshan. I want to discover all the surrounding areas here.
HC: Hungarian Consulate General in Chongqing can issue Malta Schengen visa. As far as I know, the Hungarian Consulate General in Chongqing is able to issue visa for 9 countries. Would you explain such visa policy for us in detail?
Balázs Szilágyi: We have bilateral agreements with other 9 countries respectively: Austria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Lithuania, Malta, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Slovenia. Here in Chongqing we issue visas for them. The aim is to make it available for people to get a Schengen area visa without unnecessary traveling. The Schengen visa has the same criteria of visa application. People provide same documents. The general rule for the short term visa: it can be valid in maximum 90 days within 180 days.
