JAY:
"My girlfriend, her family and I arrived in Chengdu on a beautifully sunny day and what surprised us was that how vibrant and colourful the city was. There were lots of grass and trees, some of which we saw on the top of the highrises. It is really nice to see that in such a big city.
We met up with our Chinese friends and went to visit the famous Panda Base. We got there just as it was opening so we were lucky enough to see the pandas eating and playing. The whole place was incredible and the Pandas are really well looked after, I was surprised by how high in the trees the young pandas like to climb.
Our friend then took us out for a Hotpot, which we were told is one of the most popular meals in Chengdu; it was delicious. She also invited us all to her home where her family cooked us a huge banquet of traditional Chengdu cuisine, and we were blown away by how fantastic the food was and how welcoming her family was.
We all had a great time in Chengdu and we can't wait to come back!"
