City’s GDP Hits RMB600b in This Year’s 1st Half

Chengdu maintained a steady economic growth in this year’s first half, official sources from the Information Office of the Chengdu Municipal People’s Government were cited as saying on July 20.
The city's added value of the industries above designated scale rose 8.7%, 2.3% higher over a year earlier, and 1.8% higher than the national average.
The city's competitive industries realized a growth rate in its added value of 10.5%.
In the past 6 months, the city's added value of the service industry went up 9.0% over the same period of a year ago. The financial sector saw a rapid growth and its added value increased 9.6% compared with the same period of last year.
The city accomplished a total investment in fixed assets of RMB480.44 billion, a year-on-year rise of 14.8%, 6.2% higher than the national average.
The city's total retail sales of consumer goods hit RMB311.18 billion, up 11.4% year on year. Among the volume, cities and towns achieved RMB299.61 billion, up 11.4% year on year, and rural areas RMB11.57 billion, up 11.5% year on year.
The e-retail sales remained a rapid growth in the first half of the year.

City Sees 8% GDP Growth in H1

A report released by Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Statistics shows Chengdu’s GDP in the first half of this year has reached RMB513.61 billion (approx. US$82.84 billion), up 8.0% over the same period of last year.
