Over 1000 Athletes Register for 2019 WPFG

Up to now, more than one thousand policemen and fire fighters from 34 countries and regions, including the United States, Australia and Canada, have signed up for the 2019 World Police and Fire Games (WPFG) via its official website.
To take place on August 8-18, the 2019 WPFG will be hosted for the first time in Asia, as the largest sports event to be held in Chengdu, by scale, level and number of foreign participants.
There will be 56 competitions during the event. To date, over one thousand policemen and fire fighters from 34 countries and regions, including the United States, Australia and Canada, have registered for the event.

Less than half a year away from the event, all preparations are going well here in the city. Last year, Chengdu unveiled the emblem, mascots and slogan of the event. Currently, it is upgrading and overhauling 32 venues, and pushing on with the work involving transportation, health care, volunteers and security, etc.

Not only does the WPFG provide an opportunity for police and fire fighters from the globe to compete and show their athletic skills and sportsmanship, but serves as a bridge to further friendship among them. During the event, Chengdu will hold plenty of activities, including a seminar on international security cooperation, an expo of fire-fighting equipment for police, and an exhibition of photos by policemen and fire fighters from around the world.
