The 2017 Chengdu-San Francisco Food Festival was open in San Francisco City Hall November 1 local time.
Co-hosted by Chengdu Municipal People's Government and San Francisco City Government, the event saw the presence of around 400 guests, including Mayor of San Francisco Mr. Edwin M. Lee and Chinese Consul General to San Francisco Mr. Luo Linquan.
Chengdu showed the guests its distinct food and representative elements of its Tianfu Culture. "I believe the festival will strengthen the exchange and friendship between Chengdu and San Francisco," said Mr. Edwin M. Lee.
At the scene, the guests were amazed and highly complimented the delicacies and snacks cooked by chefs from Chengdu.
A local guest named George said that he traveled to Chengdu for the first time in 2014. During his stay in the city, he visited the panda base and Wide & Narrow Alleys, and tried many fantastic foods, which impressed him much. "I'm so delighted I ate them again today in my home city."
In addition, the guests enjoyed a show of traditional Chinese long-sleeve dance, Kung Fu Tea Ceremony, and unique stunts of Sichuan Opera including Face Changing.
