Chengdu's sister city Lahore, Pakistan, won the Friendly Exchange and Cooperation Prize at the event.
As an important city of CIFCA, Chengdu has been promoting exchanges and cooperation with its 31 sister cities around the world in recent years. The city won the prize for the third straight year.
Since Chengdu and Lahore established the sister-city relationship in April 2015, the two sides have actively enhanced cooperation in the fields of important projects, infrastructure, energy and resources, agricultural water conservancy and information and technology, to further promote the all-weather friendship and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
The selection event is held every two years. It is aimed at commending cities, prefectures (states) and provinces in China and foreign countries that have made prominent contributions to the international sister city exchange and cooperation, and at promoting the integrated development of China international sister cities. The China International Sister City Exchange and Cooperation Prize is the highest honor to the cities in China and foreign countries in promoting the sister-city relationship.
