Chengdu to Have Over 110 Int’l (Regional) Air Routes by Year-end

Up to now, there have been 109 international (regional) air links between Chengdu and major cities around the five continents.
Three more international (regional) air links have been planned to open between Chengdu and other foreign cities by the end of this year, increasing the city's total number of such routes to more than 110. And starting from late September, the Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport will optimize the functions and upgrade the services of its Terminal 1, so as to improve its passengers' travel experience from the airport.

An official from the Chengdu Municipal Logistics Office (CMLO) said that the city had launched 4 more regular international passenger routes to St. Petersburg, Zurich, Vientiane and London respectively, and one more cargo route to Frankfurt by far this year. To date, there have been 109 international (regional) air links between Chengdu and major cities around the five continents.
In the remaining months of this year, at least 3 more regular international (regional) air services between Chengdu and Tel Aviv, Cairo and Copenhagen are scheduled to open on September 26, October 23 and December 10, respectively.
The CMLO, to work closely together with the Chengdu Culture and Tourism Development Group, will step up its efforts to facilitate airlines to open the links between Chengdu and Istanbul, Turkey and Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, as well as increase the frequency of the regular flights to Bangkok, Singapore, as well as Hong Kong and Macao SARs.

To better the travel experience of international (regional) passengers, the Shuangliu International Airport is currently improving its services for transit passengers and upgrading equipment and facilities in the international terminal. It is planning to offer 24-hour customs clearance service, in coordination with relevant departments.

Chengdu will provide value-added services for international air transfer passengers from southeast China’s Fuzhou city and its surrounding areas. It announced the news at a conference promoting its international routes convened in Fuzhou on March 30.
