Overseas Chefs Compete with Their Chinese Counterparts
During the Festival, the most wonderful event was a cooking contest between Martin Yan, a very prestigious international chef and Wang Qinrui, the third generation successor of a traditional Sichuan Cuisine restaurant. Wang cooked a cold dish which he is very good at—Sliced Beef and Ox Tripe in Chili Sauce. Martin made another called Salmon with Bean Paste.
The result surprised everyone with a draw. The competition enhanced the communication and exchange of food cultures between the Chinese and overseas cooking experts.
