The Second Italian Design Day Chengdu event took place March 1 here in the city. It was the first time that the event was held in southwest China since it was launched in 2017.
The event, co-hosted by the Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing and M5 Club, is aimed to promote the Italian design around the world. Inspired by the keynote speeches delivered by Professor Davide Fassi from the Polytechnic University of Milan and Liu Li, lead designer at the 5+1 Werkhard International, architects from both China and Italy shared views on design and sustainable growth at a round table.
"We strongly wanted to host the event in Chengdu because we highly value the city, which is well-developed and innovation-oriented. Chengdu shares lots of common grounds with Italy in the fields of fashion, architecture, design, and sustainable city planning," said Mr. Filippo Nicosia, Consul General of the Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing.
