Dating on Qixi, a program organized by gochengdu.cn to celebrate the Chinese Valentine's Day, was staged on Aug.28 in Duyuan Street in downtown Chengdu and attracted the participation of six couples from China, India, Nepal and Russia.
The day of Qixi on the 7th day of the 7th month on the Chinese lunar calendar, considered a day of love and romance by the Chinese people, fell on August 28 this year.
Organized by gochengdu.cn, Dating on Qixi, a program in celebration of the Chinese Valentine's Day, was held on the day of Qixi in Duyuan Street, Jinjiang District, attracting six couples from China, India, Nepal and Russia to experience traditional Chinese culture.
The whole event included many activities, such as wearing Hanfu (traditional costume of the Han nationality), Qixi ceremonies and games.
"Thank GoChengdu to give me this opportunity to join in this wonderful event. Today, I've learned many things on Chinese culture and I'm very happy I can wear Hanfu, which is totally different from the ones of our country," said NiTiN, an Indian student who has been studying medicine in Sichuan University in Chengdu.
