All state-owned museums in Chengdu will be open to the public free of charge on June 9, China's Culture and Natural Heritage Day, with eye-catching exhibitions and colorful activities.
Jinsha Site Museum
At the exhibition titled Chengdu Archaeology-The Archaeological Finds in Recent 20 Years, visitors can see over 300 pieces/sets of culture relics unearthed in Chengdu.
The old picture exhibition titled The Memento of Guanghan: Pictures by the Society for the Study of Chinese Architecture showcases the beauty of Chinese ancient buildings.
Wuhou Shrine Museum
The exhibition titled Zhuge Liang in Calligraphy and Paintings tells the story of Zhuge Liang's life through calligraphy and painting. A shadow puppet show about the Three Kingdoms (220-280) will be staged at the museum.
Du Fu's Thatched Cottage Museum
A calligraphy exhibition being held at the museum shows 88 calligraphy works by 5 calligraphers.
Chengdu Yongling Museum
The main activities there include a concert to be played with traditional Chinese instruments and a DIY salon featuring hand-made perfume satchels, Sichuan Opera facial makeups and shadow puppets.
