The 2018 Chengdu Jinsha Sun Festival opened on Feb. 13 at Jinsha Site Museum, highlighting local traditions, folk custom of sun worshipping, Tianfu culture and civilization of Pompeii. Over 50 groups of large lanterns, five groups of 15-meter-high super-sized lanterns and more than 5,000 decorated trees, all covering an area of 10,000 square meters, create a fabulous world of lights for visitors.
Some other highlights will be seen during the Festival, like the Jinsha flower fair showing an Italian town made from flowers, and over 300 performances to be given at the main stage and other parts in the venue. And traditional local snacks and Italian style food will be sold at a dining area. Visitors can also see the ongoing exhibition featuring relics unearthed from Pompeii.
