Chengdu Yongling Museum
An exhibition showcasing Chinese traditional musical instruments and costumes is being staged at the Chengdu Yongling Museum. The event which was open on December 1 will last till June 8, 2019.
The exhibition featuring the precious cultural relics "24 Musicians and Dancers" is ongoing at the Chengdu Yongling Museum, displaying nearly 20 replicas of musical instruments and costumes in the Tang Dynasty (618-907), and a manuscript painting of the 24 musicians and dancers carved on Wang Jian's Tomb unearthed in downtown Chengdu, which was painted by Mo Zongjiang, a famous Chinese architectural historian and painter. Wang Jian (847-918) was the founding emperor of the Former Shu Kingdom (907-925) and located his capital in Chengdu. In addition, some other exhibits highlighting China's ancient culture and music, including traditional Chinese paintings, poem manuscripts, and audio-visual works, etc., are also on show.
