Selection of National Young Reporters to Start for Chengdu 2021 FISU Games

The FISU-AIPS Young Reporters Programme for the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games is a partnership programme among the International University Sports Federation (FISU), the International Sports Press Association (AIPS), and the Executive Committee of the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games, which aims to provide young sports journalists with a unique training experience during the Chengdu 2021 FISU Games.

 

 

For national young reporters, the application for the programme will officially open on this website (www.2021chengdu.com) in mid-June, and the deadline for application is planned to be 20 June. The specific dates are subject to change, and the dates displayed on the activity page will be considered final.

 

Interested applicants are kindly requested to prepare and upload their works and relevant materials before the deadline. Following that, a selection mechanism combining online voting and expert evaluation will be employed to determine the final participants.

 

Young Reporters Programme for the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games was officially launched at the World Press Briefing.

 

During the programme, participants will have an opportunity to immersed in a multi-cultural learning experience that challenges them in many different ways and are joined by journalism peers from all over the world.

 

Additionally, young reporters will receive expert guidance from both national and international lectures and mentors while gaining reporting experience by covering a large-scale international sporting event. Furthermore, their works will be showcased on the official website and media platforms of the FISU and the Chengdu 2021 FISU Games.

 

 

 

Requirements for Application:

 

 

1. Chinese citizens, aged 20-25; currently enrolled as undergraduate, postgraduate, or recent graduate, with at least one year of university study completed.

2. Excellent communication and writing skills in English are required.

3. Be available between 24 July and 8 August 2023 (GMT+8), which includes the duration of the Chengdu 2021 FISU Games.

 

 

Requirements for Online Voting Entries:

 

 

Type 1: One sports-themed photo and a text description of up to 100 words for Chinese or 300 words in English.

Type 2: One sports-themed video and a text description of within 100 words for Chinese or 300 words for English (a single video size should not exceed 300M).

 

Each applicant can submit a maximum of two entries and can only apply individually. Group application is not accepted.

 

 

Requirements for Other Materials

 

 

1. CV listing previous experience and education;

2. Motivation letter (one page);

3. One reference letter from a professional reference;

4. Official documentation confirming the level of English knowledge (i.e. TOEFL, IELTS, TEM, CET or other equivalent certification);

5. Links to previous published work related to photography, editing, directing, etc. are greatly encouraged, and there is no limit on the number of uploads.
