On May 31st, the Chengdu-Central Asia New Channel (China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway and highway combined transport) train departed from the Chengdu International Railway Port for the first time. This train adopts the container highway-railway international multimodal transport mode throughout the whole process, ensuring transportation efficiency and providing customers with diversified choices.
Currently, the China-Europe freight trains are developing rapidly and the Alashankou railway port faces great pressure. The highway-railway multimodal transport mode will effectively improve logistics efficiency and flexibility, enabling goods to reach their destination more quickly and avoiding waiting time for transfers. In addition, the combined transport mode reduces the transfer links between different transportation modes, reducing operational risks and transportation costs.
This train carries a batch of machinery products such as generators, which will arrive in Kashgar, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region via railway and then be transferred to trucks for transportation through the Irkeshtam port to exit via highway in Kyrgyzstan, pass through Uzbekistan, and finally arrive in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, with an estimated transportation time of 15 days.
